Of the concepts I explored, one idea quickly stood out: a coffee cup — a simple, recognisable visual that evokes comfort, pause, and routine. A perfect metaphor for the brand. In Figma, I designed several layouts using this image alongside short, brand-aligned microcopy: “Oops! No lunch board found.” The tone of voice remained playful and friendly, while still being clear and respectful towards the user.

To keep the page actionable, I added two calls to action: one leading back to the homepage and one to reload the page. I refined the contrast, spacing, and visual hierarchy based on accessibility feedback. Due to time and development constraints, I ultimately opted for a clean, static design that still retains warmth and brand consistency.
