The Challenge
Quickscan helps logistics businesses plan their charging infrastructure smartly. The tool offers clear insights, prevents grid issues, and accelerates the transition to electric mobility.

Research & Exploration
The target group for this project consisted of businesses in the logistics sector. To better understand their needs, I conducted conversations with stakeholders such as logistics brokers and grid operators. I asked about their experiences with charging requirements, grid congestion, and their use of digital tools. In addition, I carried out desk research into grid congestion, sustainable mobility, and the role of businesses within this transition.
The research showed that many users found the existing mock-up too technical and struggled to interpret their charging situation independently. This insight was key in shaping my design approach, leading me to focus on clear language, visual guidance, and an intuitive user flow.
The context
Within a multidisciplinary team, I worked on redesigning an existing application that supports businesses in determining their charging needs. The goal was to make the tool more user-friendly, clearer, and visually appealing, so it can be used independently, even by people without a technical background.
Research strategy
Based on these insights, I made the following design decisions:
Intuitive navigation and clear language
Rounded corners and an accessible visual style
Removal of a confusing comparison table
Adding an FAQ section for quick support
Illustrations and animations to reinforce information visually
During a brainstorm session with other designers, additional ideas were developed, including an animated hero section and improved iconography.
The result
The redesigned application is easier to understand and visually stronger. Users can independently analyse their situation and explore suitable solutions, without needing in-depth technical knowledge. The final designs were well received and handed over to the development team for implementation.
What I learned
This project helped me further develop my design skills. I learned how to create creative solutions within existing constraints, and how important it is to translate feedback into clear design decisions. In addition, I experienced the value of co-creation and visual communication when designing for diverse users. Translating complex information into an accessible, understandable interface for a broad audience proved to be both a key challenge and a valuable learning experience.
